FLORAL DeVINE

In the mid eighties Isabella had a vision to one day own and operate her very own Florist in Hunters Hill servicing her local community.  She started to realise this dream when she enrolled at Sydney TAFE, commencing her 4 year part-time Floristry Education, attending at nights while raising her 4 children.  As a testament to her determination - she completed her studies in Floristry in 1990.

 

In 1991 Isabella decided to take the first step to what has become one of the longest lasting, successful businesses when she opened her Florist in Hunters Hill.  Florist Special Touch was formed and has played a pinnacle part in the Hunters Hill Community for 25 years.

Still currently servicing major bodies such as The Hunters Hill Municipality, St Josephs College, The Lodge Retirement Village, Hunters Hill Community Centre, The Heritage, Hunters Hill Private Hospital & the Sisters of St. Joseph with all of their floral requests as well as our numerous customers in the surrounding areas of Hunters Hill including Gladesville, Woolwich, Putney, Lane Cove, Longueville, Ryde, Densitone, Riverview, Northwood, Greenwich, Huntleys Cove, Henley, Linley Point, Tennyson Point, Putney, Abbotsford, Chiswick, Russell Lea, Drummoyne, Rodds Point, Five Dock, Rozelle, Balmain, Birchgrove, Annandale, Haberfield, Glebe, Artarmon, West Ryde, Roseville & Macquarie Park,

Our customers go back three Generations. They are known by name and always greeted with a friendly face.  Our Florist has always gone the extra mile for our customers to ensure expectations are exceeded. As a result many of our customers who now live outside the local area still utilise our florist services time and again for their special occasions.

 

Florist Special Touch was very much a family affair. Isabella's daughter Mary had been working at Florist Special Touch on and off for over 18 years.  We can’t forget Vince, Isabella’s Husband who also assisted the business by delivering flowers and helping around the Florist. You can say that Isabella and her family have flowers flowing through their veins.  Flowers are their passion with no job being too big or too small.

 

It was with much sadness, relief and excitement to Isabella and her family when she decided that as of 2014 she would be stepping down as owner of Florist Special Touch and that her daughter Mary would be taking ownership of the Florist. At the same time, Mary decided it was time for some exciting changes to take place to further improve the business and its operations. The Florist went through a complete revamp and 'Florist Special Touch' was renamed 'Floral DeVine' introducing new products and building the business. Floral DeVine continued to service the greater Hunters Hill Community.

Now Ally and Rob with their family have taken the lead of Floral DeVine with a view towards the next 25 years, servicing our current and new customers while maintaining our craftsmanship, standard and service (but as always Isabella's guiding hands are still assisting).

Ally brings more than 25 years of retail, quality management and buying experience along with knowledge in Horticulture with her Degree in Horticulture Science (specialising in postharvest care of flowers and production), Graduate Diploma in Horticulture (specialising in postharvest and marketing) and Certificate 111 in Floristry and Rob has extensive experience in customer relations and management.
